LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- The bridge on Stutes Road will be closed for six months, the Lafayette Consolidated Government announced Monday.
The closure will take place from Sept. 3 to March 1. Detours will be marked and available to ensure minimal disruption. Local access will be maintained throughout the closure, authorities said.
"This period will allow for replacement of the bridge, including the removal of a 20-foot timber bridge and installation of a double box culvert," the Lafayette government said.
Detour routes will be on:
- Lagneaux Road
- Ridge Road
- Fernway Lane
