Thousands gather in Gage Park for Topeka Food Truck Festival

0

TOPEKA (KSNT) - Locals in Topeka gathered at Gage Park to celebrate the 2nd annual Topeka Food Truck Festival.

Local food truck owners are making the festival an annual event thanks to the success experienced last year which saw more than 12,000 people visit the park. In 2024, a total of 23 food trucks, all based from Shawnee County, arrived to celebrate this year's festival.

People had numerous choices for food and could participate in numerous fun activities like axe throwing, a golf simulator and a balloon artist. Local bands added music to help entertain the large crowds.

"It's really just a labor of love, honesty, between all of us food truck owners, we love what we do, we love coming together, and having fun with our customers," said Aaron Parish, event coordinator for the Topeka Food Truck Festival.

Food truck owners coordinated the event with help from Shawnee County Parks and Recreation. 27 News is a proud sponsor of the festival.
