Man arrested in Nicosia as burglary suspect

A 53-year-old man was arrested in Nicosia on Monday under suspicion of having committed 19 robberies, burglaries and break-ins police said.

According to police, the man was arrested on Monday afternoon on a court ordered warrant.

The man is suspected of stealing from 16 people, one burglary and one attempted burglary, and a break in and burglary.

The alleged burglaries are said to have been committed from April 2023 to August 2024.

The 53-year-old suspected is said to have been entering bakeries in Nicosia with his face covered and taking money from the till or donation boxes.
