Try to Be Curious, Not Judgmental, About Ted Lasso Returning
Ted Lasso may be heading into overtime. Apple TV+ picked up the options for three U.K.-based cast members, according to Deadline: Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Walton), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins). That means Apple will continue paying these actors in return for the rights to their schedules. Now, Apple is reportedly expected to contact the American actors, whose contracts have lapsed, and book them in as well. That includes Ted Lasso himself, Jason Sudeikis; Juno Temple (Keeley Jones); and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard). We BELIEVE that all will be back.
Ted Lasso was always intended to last for three seasons. Star Jason Sudeikis told Entertainment Weekly in 2021 that, “the story that’s being told — that three-season arc — is one that I see, know, and understood.” But then the show ended on a note that seemed to imply that there could be more, and the show’s X account posted, “It’s like what I say about the films of David Lynch. I can’t tell you what’s happenin’, but I sure as heck don’t want it to end.” Will the lockdown comfort show hit as hard in a post-Brat universe?
