PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland fire officials say an early Monday morning house fire turned deadly.
Crews were originally called to the burning house on SE Flavel just before 3:30 a.m. By the time they arrived the fire was threatening to spread and the blaze was upgraded to a second alarm.
After crews were able to knock down the flames and begin searching the building, officials say they found a man inside. Firefighters began resuscitation efforts but they were unable to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
This is a developing story and will be updated when new information becomes available.
