What We’re Tracking

  • Hot again today
  • Few storms Tuesday
  • Late week cooldown

A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect for all of Northeast Kansas through Monday. Expect heat indices to be upwards of 110°.

After a hot day yesterday, we have not seen much relief throughout the overnight hours and into this morning. Temperatures bottomed out in the lower to middle 70s.

The heat is sticking around for tomorrow with a heat advisory through Monday. We will once again get into the upper 90s to lower 100s with heat index about 5 to 10 degrees warmer. Dew points will be in the lower 70s, so the air will feel hot and muggy.

A weak frontal boundary moves in later on Tuesday and sparks a chance for a few thunderstorms Tuesday evening. It doesn't make too much of a difference temperature-wise but it does slow our warming. A much stronger front arrives Thursday night.

We'll see a gradually cooling trend throughout next week, seeing more middle 90s by Wednesday. Our best chance for scattered showers looks to be late Thursday and that will help us cool down into the lower 80s by Friday!
