YUKON, Okla. (KFOR) — Two people were arrested in Yukon for child neglect and possession of a controlled substance. Police said the couple and their three kids were found in a Walmart parking lot after they got a call from a concerned person.

"Our officers arrived on scene. They found three kids and an adult who was a parent of the three kids," said Major Zach Roberson, Yukon Police Department.

Officers said they learned the car was broken and the family slept in the car overnight.

They asked the children's mother, Brianna Findley, to call a family member for help.

Police said they started asking more questions and got a hint that something wasn't right, especially with the kids.

"They noticed that the kid was lethargic, kind of had some shallow breathing. They go to inspect or kind of talk to the child, not responding," said Roberson.

That's when police asked where Brianna's husband, Damien, was sitting. Brianna responded and said he was around.

Shortly after, police said they asked Brianna to get out of the car.

"Unfortunately, when our officers were talking with the parent, the parent was coming somewhat defensive," said Roberson.

The kids were taken to a police car to get air conditioning and food. Police said the two-year-old was unresponsive.

"We had to call medical, medical arrive. They actually had to administer an iv to the child, While doing this, they've noticed some some irregulars to the child," said Roberson.

The police report explains officers noticed heat rash, bug bites, and bruising.

At the hospital, nurses found a bruise on the child's leg that allegedly looked like a "forceful grab" with "four distinct finger marks"

Brianna and Damien Findley were both arrested.

"They found methamphetamine and other drugs on them. The parents were arrested for child endangerment and abuse," said Roberson.

Yukon police said all three kids are in the care of another family member.

They also want to remind people how important it is to call police if you see something that doesn't seem normal.
