Heat advisory through Monday night for Northeast Kansas.
We’re Tracking
- Hot again today
- Dry next several days
- Late week cooldown
A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect for all of Northeast Kansas through Monday. Expect heat indices to be upwards of 110°.
Temperatures overnight will stay a bit on the warmer side again, in the upper 70s. Tonight will be mostly clear with winds from the South.
The heat is sticking around for tomorrow with a heat advisory through Monday. We will once again get into the upper 90s to lower 100s with heat index about 5 to 10 degrees warmer. Dew points will be in the lower 70s, so the air will feel hot and muggy.
A quiet weather pattern falls into place as a ridge of high pressure settles over the Midwest, allowing the heat to stick around early this week. During our stretch of hotter weather, winds looks to pick up from the south and southwest at 15-20 mph.
We'll see a gradually cooling trend throughout next week, seeing more middle 90s by Wednesday as our rain chances increase. Our best chance for scattered showers looks to be late Thursday and that will help us cool down into the lower 80s by Friday!
