Cole Palmer’s first goal of the season is as cold as it comes as Chelsea star gets off mark in style against Wolves
COLE PALMER got off the mark for the new season in style as he netted a devastatingly “cold” goal in Chelsea’s 6-2 thrashing of Wolves.
The Young Player of the Year lined up in a central role for the Blues as Noni Madueke netted a hat-trick – with Palmer also assisting all three of his teammate’s goals.

But they were soon pegged back thanks to a clinical finish by Matheus Cunha.
However, the Brazilian’s goal paled in comparison to Palmer’s.
The England Euro star was in the perfect position as Jackson latched on to a long pass from goalie Robert Sanchez as the game approached half-time.
The striker headed down into Palmer’s feet as Jose Sa came rushing out of his penalty area.
And without pausing for breath, Palmer delicately chipped it up and over Wolves’ stopper as he desperately ran back towards his open net.
The strike sent Chelsea’s visiting fans wild.
While Palmer and Jackson both performed the midfielder’s iconic “cold” celebration.

Fans were quick to hail the effort as an immediate “contender for Goal of the Season.”
One said: “Cole Palmer is back.”
Another declared: “Palmer the best winger in the league.”
One noted: “Palmer is so, so good. Some finish that.”
Another added: “Damn, so cold.”
Unfortunately for Chelsea, they could not hold their lead for long.
Just minutes later, and with the whistle about to blow for the break, Wolves fired home a second equaliser.
New man Jorgen Strand Larsen put his effort away to rapturous noise from the Molineux faithful.
And it set up a tantalising second half between Gary O’Neil and Enzo Maresca’s men.
But it was Chelsea who drew first blood early again, this time with Madueke netting in the 47th minute.
The winger fell foul of Wolves fans with a hastily-deleted X-rated social media post and was booed at every touch prior to his goal.
And with 30 minutes left Madueke broke through again before firing home his second of the match.
But the ace wasn’t done yet, completing his hat-trick moments later with another sharp finish.
Amazingly, Palmer assisted all three of Madueke’s strikes, with the duo linking up impeccably.
Chelsea still had another in the tank, with ex-Wolves star Pedro Neto and Joao Felix linking up as the latter netted a sixth on his second debut.
