Kamala Harris accepts nomination at DNC: PIX Panel
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- With the Democratic National Convention over, political analysts are weighing in on what they observed as Vice President Kamala Harris officially accepted the presidential nomination.
PIX on Politics host Dan Mannarino sat down with a panel consisting of PIX11's Henry Rosoff, Sally Goldenberg, the senior New York editor for Politico, and Craig McCarthy, the deputy police bureau chief of the New York Post, to discuss their perspectives on how the Democratic Party handled the convention.
"This whole election has been about vibes, instead of policy. Not playing up as much as I expected this identity and historic nature of nominating a woman of color at the top of the ticket. I didn't get a huge sense of that," said Rosoff.
"One of the goals was to introduce people to Kamala Harris. Heavy on biography, I think there was a lot of acknowledging that a lot of Americans don't really know much about her or really follow the vice president," said Goldenberg.
"I think they have been using Trump as a foil because they haven't really defined Kamala Harris. Over the last few years, she's been working in the background and they haven't done much to bring her to the foreground. To an extent, this was introducing her to the voters," added McCarthy.
