Man dead from hit-run in Southeast Portland, driver at large

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man is dead after a hit and run in Southeast Portland late Saturday night.

Just after 11 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Southeast 162nd Avenue and Stark Street on reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.

On arrival, they found the pedestrian dead at the scene and the driver had left the area.

During the investigation, Southeast 162nd Avenue was closed between East Burnside Street and Southeast Alder Street. Additionally, Southeast Stark Street was closed between Southeast 160th Avenue and Southeast 164th Avenue.

No further information, including the identity of the victim, has been released at this time.
