Beyond IPL: The World’s Top 5 Richest Cricket Leagues

0

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is widely recognized as the most financially dominant cricket league globally, but it’s not the only one making waves. Several other cricket leagues around the world boast significant wealth and influence, shaping the international cricket landscape. Here’s a look at the top five wealthiest cricket leagues in the world after the IPL:

1. Indian Premier League

The most expensive T20 cricket league in the world is called the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is sponsored by Tata Group and hosted by the BCCI. Over 300 players from India and elsewhere gather in India each year to participate in this festival-style competition. The Tata IPL Trophy competition takes place at the end of the March–June IPL season.

2. UAE International League T20

Founded in 2022, the Emirates Cricket Board hosts the UAE International T20 League, which is played in Abu Dhabi. It is one of the newest cricket leagues in the world, but it has ascended to the second rank of the most costly leagues in the world rather quickly.

3. South Africa T20 League

One of the three priciest cricket leagues is the SA20 league, which is run by Cricket South Africa (CSA). Despite being scheduled for 2017, it didn’t launch until 2023 because to sponsorship and broadcast deal delays. In spite of this, it has rapidly established itself as a major player in the world of cricket.

4. Big Bash League

The Big Bash League (BBL), also known as the KFC Big Bash League due to its sponsorship, is a prominent T20 cricket league established by Cricket Australia in 2011.

5. The Hundred

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) created a novel cricket competition called The Hundred. It offers a new spin on the conventional format with eight men’s and eight women’s teams from key cities and states in England and Wales competing in a modified T20 format.
