Illinois bans corporal punishment in all schools

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois: This year, Illinois will become only the fifth state in the nation to prohibit corporal punishment in all schools.

This month, Governor JB Pritzker signed the legislation banning physical punishment in private schools while prohibiting a practice in public schools implemented 30 years ago.
