RFK walks out to 90s anthem 'My hero' at Trump rally — to the chagrin of the Foo Fighters

Former President Donald Trump may have gotten himself in some hot water Friday afternoon when he played the popular 1997 anthem "My Hero" by the Foo Fighters as he welcomed Robert F. Kennedy to the stage at his Glendale, Arizona, rally.

Kennedy's walk-out to the song — with fireworks igniting behind him and Trump — caught the attention of the band, who delivered a stern response.

“Foo Fighters were not asked permission, and if they were, they would not have granted it,” a spokesperson told Billboard. The person added that “appropriate actions are being taken” against Trump's campaign, and that any royalties received as a result of the usage will be donated to the Harris-Walz campaign.

Kennedy's endorsement of Trump and "hero" walk-out also caught the attention of CNN anchor Laura Coates on Friday night, who on her show noted the lyrics say: "There goes my hero, he's ordinary."

"Huh," she said, with a head tilt. "So suddenly according to Trump, RFK is no longer a dangerous radical, suddenly RFK is an ordinary asset."

She played a clip of Trump heaping praise on Trump, then quipped: "There goes my hero — since May."

Coates then played a clip of Trump saying in May that he'd take President Joe Biden over Kennedy, who he labeled a "radical left liberal" and "Democrat plant."
