LGBTQ advocates say Mormon church's new transgender policies marginalize trans members
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has issued a slew of new guidelines which would limit the role of transgender members in local congregations. These rules will bar those who are transitioning from their biological church at birth from working with children or serving as priests and teachers. Transgender members also cannot stay at overnight youth camps and may only use single-occupancy restrooms at church meetinghouses. Academics and LGBTQ+ advocates say the guidelines though not surprising may affect church membership and cause pain for transgender people and their families,
