Video showed Luke telling a cop he was a “w****r” and asking: “Why do you run away from immigrants, but when we do anything you f*****g cosh us?”

Paul was filmed hurling missiles — and his well-paid HS2 tunnelling job was now at risk, Sheffield crown court heard.

The Barnsley brothers had pleaded guilty to violent disorder at a previous hearing.

Judge Jeremy Richardson told them: “You were right at the front of the mob attacking those officers.”

Referring to the police pinned up against a wall of the Holiday Inn in Rotherham, the judge said: “It never ceases to frighten me, and I’m watching it days after the event.

“The young officers on that cordon must have been terrified by that mob.”

More than 20 people have now been jailed over the riot on August 4.
