Chrissy Teigen’s Baby Esti Is More Eloquent Than Donald Trump in the Cutest New Video

0

The Cravings author shared a video of her toddler during the Democratic National Convention last night. “Absolutely insane insane night for the @demconvention and it just started!! ❤️????????” she captioned the video. In it, Esti is sitting in her high chair, with messy curls on top of her hair and a little baby spoon in her hand.

“Esti, are you cute?” Teigen says in the video, prompting a confident, “Yeah” from the toddler. Then she asks, “Can you say ‘Kamala’?”

“Kamala!” Esti responds with a smile, pronouncing Vice President Kamala Harris’s first name perfectly. “Yes, girl!” Teigen praises. And that, folks, is how it’s done.

Teigen shared the video on her Instagram story as well, writing, “@realdonaldtrump my 1 year old can say it.” Oooooh! Are you feeling cold, Trump? Because she just threw some major shade your way!

Teigen, of course, was referring to the fact that Trump has publicly bungled V.P. Harris’s name many times recently. At one event in Florida last month, he said, per HuffPost, “Some people think I mispronounce it on purpose, but actually I’ve heard it said about seven different ways. There are a lot of ways.”

Even if this was somehow true and he truly didn’t know how to pronounce it (it’s “Comma-La”), it doesn’t really matter … because he doesn’t care. Trump said, “I said, ‘don’t worry about it.’ It doesn’t matter what I say. I couldn’t care less if I mispronounce it or not. I couldn’t care less.” A real class act (said no one ever).

At the Democratic National Convention last night, they had a whole segment on pronouncing the Democrat presidential nominee. Kerry Washington took the stage, slamming everyone who isn’t even trying to get it right.

US actress Kerry Washington (C) teaches the public how to pronounce “Kamala” with Kamala Harris’s great-nieces, Amara and Leela on the fourth and last day of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, on August 22, 2024. “It’s come to my attention that there are some folks who struggle — or pretend to struggle — with the proper pronunciation of our future president’s name,” she said, per Associated Press. “Confusion is understandable. Disrespect is not. So tonight we are going to help everyone get it right.”

Harris’s nieces Amara, 8, and Leela, 6, came out to help teach the audience how to say it. “First you say ‘comma’ like the comma in a sentence,” Amara said.

“Then you say ‘la’ like la-la-la-la-la,” added Leela. How cute is that?!

People were praising Teigen for her sweet video, including her husband. Legend wrote, “Comma La!!” Someone else said, “If a 2-year-old can say it correctly, there is no excuse for anyone else.”

“She said it. And she meant it!! ????” another wrote. “I mean if the littles can say it ????. They just act slow for no reason,” someone else said.

In June, the Chrissy & Dave Dine Out star took Esti and her other kids Luna, 8, Miles, 6, and Wren, 1, to the White House to meet the V.P. Teigen shared adorable pictures of Esti dressed in a light pink dress-and-bloomers combo with matching headband, pointing up at Harris. Meanwhile, Harris is leaned down, smiling at the adorable girl. “Esti appreciation post ????????????” Teigen captioned the post. “So much light added to our life from this fearless little being!”

Teigen’s kids got to meet Harris after she joined the Vice President for a Q&A session for reproductive rights activists, physicians, and influencers. Afterward, she told Elle about the special evening. “Esti immediately ripped a book that was titled ‘White House History,’” she said. “And the Vice President was just telling us, ‘There’s one thing in this room that is the oldest thing in all of the White House.’ I was like, ‘Tell me it’s not the book,’ but it wasn’t. It was the armoire.” Phew!

If you hear someone struggling with pronouncing “Kamala”, now you have the perfect video clapback to show them. Hopefully seeing a cute toddler speaking flawlessly will encourage others to try just a little bit harder.
