HEAT ADVISORY FOR SATURDAY AND SUNDAY: All of Northeastern Kansas is under a head advisory for this weekend. Heat indices look to be upwards to 109 degrees.
Waking up Saturday morning, it is possible to see a few isolated showers once again. The showers should be drying out by around noon tomorrow. Depending on how much rain we see will determine how hot we can get on Saturday. Temperatures, expected to reach middle 90s with heat index in the lower 100s.
Other than the very slight chance of some isolated showers early on Saturday, the rest of weekend looks to remain dry as the heat really kicks in. A quiet weather pattern falls into place as a ridge of high pressure settles over the Midwest. Humidity will also make a come back this weekend as dew points tomorrow reach into the upper 60s.
During that stretch of hotter weather, winds looks to pick up from the south and southwest at 15-20 mph, which should eventually dry the air out a bit by the end of the weekend. However, areas with drier air will ultimately see higher temperatures because of it.
