The lucky Brit had secured a “full house” after just 19 numbers which saw them scoop up a £1,000 cash prize.

However, that result then triggered a second win for the whole room.

Bingo players at Warrior Retail Park had all been participating in Mecca Bingo’s Super Share Saturday game, which saw them automatically land £50,000 to share.

A celebratory was held for the smiling customers who couldn’t believe their luck.

Neil Lamb, the assistant manager said: “When it was confirmed that Mecca Hartlepool had won the community prize, everyone was cheering and very excited.

“I was swamped by very happy customers who couldn’t believe that they’d all won.”

The humble winner has decided to remain anonymous.

This follows a woman who was left shaking after believing she had won £1,000 in a bingo game.

SHOCK RESULT

The mystery player from Paisley in Scotland “burst into tears with shock” after learning that she actually won £125,000.

She had made a last-minute decision to attend the event that evening and ended up scooping the jackpot at the National Bingo Game.

Connor Wilson, the caller on the night, described the extraordinary event

He said: “The winner shouted house and initially thought she’d won £1,000, which she was really pleased with.

“When we verified her win and clarified that she’d actually won £125,000 she started shaking and burst into tears with shock.

“I offered her a bottle of bubbly to celebrate but she just wanted a cup of tea!”

The winner, who wants to remain anonymous, regularly plays bingo with her family at the venue on Saucel Crescent.

Connor says the club erupted with cheers when he broke the news over the microphone.

He said: “It was our Big Money Weekend, and with the National Game’s special jackpot too, the club was busier than ever.

“When we realised the size of her prize I could barely get the words out.

“I was so excited for her, I almost felt like I’d won it myself!”

General manager at Mecca Bingo Paisley, Grant Munro, added: “We’re always thrilled for our winners but to scoop £125,000 on the National Bingo Game jackpot is a real cause for celebration – with whichever tipple you prefer!”

The National Bingo Game is played twice a day for 364 days a year at all Mecca Clubs.

It comes after a Bingo player was moved to tears after scooping an incredible £50,000 jackpot prize.

How do community jackpots work

Jackpots aren’t just for the full house winner(s), they can also be a treat for everyone!

With a community jackpot, when someone wins the jackpot, everyone benefits.

Community jackpots will share the winnings between the full house winner(s) who triggered the jackpot AND any players with tickets for the winning game.

The split is usually 50/50. However, the share given to each player may be equal (i.e. equally shared among all players with at least one ticket) or proportional (i.e. proportionally shared, depending on the number of tickets that each player had for the winning game).

So, jackpots can be a great way to still win, even if your numbers don’t come up!
