Watch: Mohammad Shami Grants Deepti Sharma’s Request For Photo With Her Brother

New Delhi: Team India speedster Mohammad Shami was spotted accepting to the kind request of women’s team all-rounder Deepti Sharma to click a photograph with her brother. The incident took place during the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards functions held in Mumbai on Wednesday, August 21.

As Shami arrived at the award ceremony, the paparazzi were busy photographing him. At that moment, Deepti Sharma approached him with a request to take a picture with her brother, and Shami gladly complied.

In the award function, Shami won ODI Bowler of the Year. In 2023, he appeared in 19 ODIs and clinched 43 wickets, with 24 of them coming at the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Mohammed Shami has been sidelined since the ODI World Cup final on November 19, 2023, held at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad. Following the event, Shami underwent ankle surgery in February this year.

Throughout his recovery, Shami has frequently updated his fans about his progress via his official Instagram account. He has also been receiving rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

Reports suggest that Bengal speedster Mohammad Shami is aiming to return to competitive cricket in October, beginning with Bengal’s opening match in the 2024/25 Ranji Trophy. This return could potentially pave the way for his inclusion in the Team India squad for the second or third Test against New Zealand.
