After weeks of warnings: Iceland's volcanic eruption expands as lava flows from second fissure

An eruption on the Reykjanes peninsula began on Thursday evening after a series of earthquakes, with the Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO) estimating the main fissure to be 3.9 kilometres long. A second fissure opened on Friday, but volcanic activity remains concentrated on the first crack.
