The Sparks locked up another player for the 2025 season by agreeing to a one-year extension with Stephanie Talbot.

The Sparks agreed to an extension with another free-agent-to-be on Thursday as they announced forward Stephanie Talbot would stay with the franchise through 2025.

Talbot was set for free agency this upcoming offseason after signing with the Sparks last offseason.

“I’m glad I found a home in LA with a coaching staff and organization that trust me as much as I trust them,” Talbot said in the team’s press release on the extension. “I look forward to helping my teammates and the Sparks return to championship form.”

Talbot has been a steady role player for the Sparks this year, having played 25 games. She is one of only five players with at least 400 minutes played.

Her averages are fairly modest on the year as she’s averaging 4.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 44.2% from the field and 35% from three.

At the Olympics, Talbot played six games and averaged 5.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists. Talbot helped Australia earn a bronze medal in Paris.

“We are excited about Steph’s extension and decision to stay in LA through the 2025 season,” said head coach Curt Miller. “Her versatility and toughness to play multiple positions while impacting both ends of the court is a valuable piece to our team.”

Earlier this summer, the Sparks agreed to a deal with Dearica Hamby that will also see her avoid free agency this summer. After the two deals, the Sparks are set to only have two players hit free agency this summer.

Kia Nurse is still slated for unrestricted free agency while Aari McDonald is set to become a restricted free agent. Li Yeuru has a team option for next season as well.
