Police investigating 'suspicious death' in Mustang Ridge
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Mustang Police Department said a 53-year-old man's death is now being investigated as a "suspicious death" in connection with a "physical disturbance" that was reported back in July in Mustang Ridge, the agency said in a news release.
Around 8:30 p.m., July 24, police responded to that disturbance Bronco Court, according to MRPD. Officers arrived to find the man "unconscious and unresponsive," the release said. EMS arrived on the scene and transported the man to South Austin Medical Center, the release said.
Then, around 8:14 p.m., Aug. 18, the man died from his injuries and was pronounced dead, according to police.
An autopsy was then performed by the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office the next day "to determine the cause of death," police said. Those results are now pending.
MRPD's Criminal Investigation Division, along with the Texas Rangers, are investigating the case, the release said.
