NYRA honors New York Army National Guard soldiers during annual Military Appreciation Day
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Military Appreciation Day at the Saratoga Race Course is an annual tradition. This year, the New York Racing Association paid tribute to three New York Army National Guard soldiers, in a very special way.
A highlight of the day was when 102-year-old Ken Bailey, who served in World War II, rang the bell in the Winner’s Circle seven times at 17 minutes to post to signify when the horses have entered the paddock.
