Catskill school board responds to public frustration over staffing
CATSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Catskill Board of Education meeting prompted the school board president to respond. The board of education held a "special" meeting on Wednesday after parents demanded answers regarding some recent staffing changes in their schools.
Yet most were left more confused and upset than ever. The board agreed to take five people one-by-one into a private executive session to discuss what's been happening, but none of the five could talk about what was said behind closed doors.
The school board president responded in a statement on the school's website. It said in-part:
- The district conducted all investigations and addressed all potential personnel matters in accordance with applicable police, regulation and law.
- There has been no conflict of interest in how the members of the board have addressed the matters before it
- The board's primary focus is to provide the children with high quality education, opportunities and support
- Confidence that the board and administration can work collaboratively to lead the district
