Clairo Shade Is Everywhere
Someone needs to tell these bakers, pastry chefs, and cake decorators that if they keep shading Clairo, we’re walking out the door with our bags. If you’ve been paying attention to the online discourse, you know that Clairo shade is at an all-time high, with the CSI (Clairo Shade Index) reaching up to 85 Junas. It is madness. What’s happening? Why is it so pervasive? And what does it have to do with my cake? All answers below.
What is Clairo shade?
Clairo shade can potentially occur when you tweet, post, or opine about any pop star, famous person, or non-famous person who is not Clairo. Because it’s like … why aren’t you talking about Clairo?

When did Clairo shade begin?
Well, Clairo shade rings eternal throughout time because Clairo only makes up an estimated 25 to 30 percent of all conversation topics. But people started noticing it in 2024, and it first went viral on July 10, when a user pointed out the Clairo shade inherent to Katy Perry’s 143 album announcement.
This might be Clairo shade bc 1, 4, and 3 respectively correspond the letters to “A” “D” “C” in the Latin alphabet, which could stand for “And Die, Clairo”…….. https://t.co/04Agfoptbb

Okay, but what does Clairo shade mean?
The meme blew up largely as a parody of stan culture’s tendency to refocus everything back onto their idol, like when Prince Philip’s death caused a Swiftie to tweet “We should all come together and stream Fearless in his honor.” Basically, the Clairo-shade meme is a way of poking fun at the myopia of modern stan culture.
once you start detecting Clairo shade you see it everywhere

And what’s this about a cake?
The meme got pushed to a whole new level after a Bushwick party went viral because an alleged twink definitely fell through a skylight. The event went viral, alongside incriminating photos of a hideous cake emblazoned with the words “Clairo shade.”

No, she’s too classy.
