'Somebody else generated them': Trump throws fan under the bus for fake Taylor Swift posts

Donald Trump has experienced a lot of backlash from Taylor Swift fans -- a.k.a., "Swifties" -- when he posted several images created by artificial intelligence that falsely portrayed the pop star endorsing him.

For the first time reporters pressed him on the matter when he spoke to Fox Business, The Wrap reports.

"Are you worried that Taylor Swift is going to sue you?" asked correspondent Grady Trimble.

“I don’t know anything about them, other than somebody else generated them,” Trump said of the images he posted on Truth Social Monday.

“I didn’t generate them. Somebody came out. They said, oh, look at this. These were all made up by other people. AI is always very dangerous in that way," claimed Trump, who sold a number of digital trading cards depicting him as muscular and as a superhero.

“It’s happening with me too,” Trump claimed. "They’re making — having me speak. I speak perfectly, I mean, absolutely perfectly on AI, and I’m, like, endorsing other products and things. It’s a little bit dangerous out there."

Trump's images of Swift were posted on X and other social media sites. Trump's team then did screen captures of the tweets when sharing them. Swift is already on a "collision course" with Trump supporter Elon Musk for allowing fake pornographic videos of her to populate his platform, as Newsweek reported in January.
