AUSTIN (KXAN) — The City of Austin's free shuttle services to Zilker Park have already surpassed 2023 seasonal totals, city officials shared in Austin Mobility Committee documents.
The Zilker Shuttle provides free transportation on the weekends, running from One Texas Center at 505 Barton Springs Road to Zilker Park and back. Through Labor Day, it operates on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with free validated parking available at OTC.
As of July 31, almost 3,000 community members used the free shuttle services — more than 2023's total ridership.
This year marks the third summer of the shuttle service. A new route structure incorporates two CapMetro bus stops on Barton Springs Road as part of service operations, as well as a pick-up option from the Stratford gravel parking lot.
More details on shuttle operations are available online.
