Multiple departments called to fight fire at casino in Brown Co.
POWHATTAN (KSNT) - A large group of firefighters were assembled after a propane fire threatened a casino in Brown County.
Around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21 the Sabetha Fire Department (SFD) was called to assist with a fire at Sac and Fox Casino in Powhattan. The SFD said on social media that due to the size of the fire, a large firefighter presence was requested.
Firefighters from Fairview, Powhatan, Kickapoo Tribe, Wetmore and Horton were called to assist with the blaze, according to the SFD.
The SFD said they helped control the fire while the gas could be shut off. Once the gas was shut off, firefighters used water to cool the propane tank to help burn off the remaining fuel.
