Bayern Munich signed Harry Kane last summer

Bayern reportedly paid £86.4m plus add-ons to sign Kane from Tottenham last summer, which is a huge amount considering that the striker only had a year left on his contract.

The 31-year-old more than repaid the German giants, scoring 31 Bundesliga goals, which is more than any other player has scored in his first season in the competition, finishing the campaign with a whopping 44 goals and 12 assists across all competitions.

However, the centre-forward once again ended the season without a trophy to show for his efforts, with Bayern being pipped to the Bundesliga title by a rampant Bayer Leverkusen side.

Kane is now preparing for the first game of the new season under new manager Vincent Kompany, with the Bavarian side set to travel to Wolfsburg on Sunday.

Gazza says Kane should have waited for Real Madrid

Gascoigne believes that the former Spurs man will already be having second thoughts about his decision to move to Germany.

The 67-year-old told The Mirror about Kane’s switch to Bayern: “I just cannot understand why he went there instead of Real Madrid. When you go there, it’s not just playing and training, you’re in the sun and you’re enjoying it – Madrid, what a great city. Jude Bellingham is there, of course.

“But yeah, I think he (Kane) would be regretting it, Germany isn’t the best of places I suppose. You look at all of the English players who went to Real Madrid like Steve McManaman, Michael Owen and now Bellingham’s gone there so you wonder why he didn’t go there.”

Spurs Web Opinion

We know that Kane is an extremely single-minded and committed individual and he will not be thinking about anything other than scoring goals for Bayern and helping the club reclaim the Bundesliga title this season.
