Survey reveals 60% growth in wind energy projects

The South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA) has released results from the 2024 South African Renewable Energy Grid Survey (SAREGS), presented on August 21 by State-owned Eskom's National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA) strategic grid planning manager Ronald Marais during a webinar co-hosted by SAWEA, the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association and NTCSA. In its third year, SAWEA says SAREGS has become an essential tool for aligning South Africa’s renewable energy development pipeline with grid planning and investment, and further showcases the need for collaborative efforts between industry stakeholders.
