Matthew Hayden Calls This Indian batter as Trump Card in Border-Gavaskar Trophy
Australian batter Matthew Hayden reckoned that Rishabh pant will be the key player for India in the near coming Border-Gavaskar Trophy that is to be hosted by Australia later on this year. Matthew said that Pant has a muscle memory and a hunger for victory. Pant is not in Test cricket since he had an accident while driving.
Pant will make his comeback in the longest format of the game and is most likely to give his appearance in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.
“Guys like Rishabh Pant have got a muscle memory and the thirst for victory. He was such a key player last time he played there and the Australian public loved him as well, because of the nature of the way he played his game,” Hayden told media.
India team has won two back-to-back Border-Gavaskar Trophies and is now aiming to go for a hattrick against World Test Champions.
“It was exciting. It was innovative. It was just fresh and good. Then you have got your old stewards, like Virat Kohli, (he) will want to make an impression again. From a batting point of view, I’m excited to see how India have that strategy to take on the Australian conditions,” he added.
