The “TikTok beauty doc” also revealed the best water temperature for showers if you want to prevent wrinkles.
For her first recommendation, the doctor advised her followers to avoid rubbing or tugging on the skin around their eyes.
“[It] is very delicate and sensitive,” the medical expert warned her audience.
“Be gentle when removing makeup around the eyes, avoid aggressive rubbing.
She added that irritation of the skin around the eyes may also lead to hyperpigmentation.
For her next anti-ageing tip, Dr Sunder explained why facial exercises often do more harm than good.
She revealed that “hyperactive movement” of the facial muscles makes them work overtime.
This in turn creates more wrinkles as they tend to form in areas of repeated muscle movement,
She gave the example of raising your eyebrows, opening your mouth wide, or frowning.
The doctor demonstrated the various facial expressions which may enhance wrinkles.
According to the expert, forehead, frown, and mouth lines often form as a result of these exaggerated facial expressions.
The plastic surgeon also recommended avoiding hot showers when possible.
She explained that hot water can “deplete the skin of its natural moisture barrier.”
Instead, Dr Sunder advised her audience to opt for lukewarm or even cold water, especially when washing their faces.
