Independiente Medellin cruise into Copa Sudamericana quarters

BOGOTA, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Colombia's Independiente Medellin scored twice in each half to romp to a 4-0 home win over Chilean side Palestino and earn a place in the Copa Sudamericana quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Ivan Hurtado gifted the hosts an early lead in their round of 16 second-leg clash when he inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, and Jaime Alvarado doubled the advantage just before halftime.
