Japan's Aug factory activity declines slow, PMI shows

Japanese factory activity saw a slower contraction in August, with the manufacturing PMI rising to 49.5, while the service sector expanded to 54.0. Despite these mixed signals, rising price pressures and labor constraints remained concerns. The composite PMI, combining manufacturing and services, reached its highest level since May at 53.0.
