Two Troy officers promoted to sergeant
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two Troy police officers were promoted to the rank of sergeant on Wednesday. The ceremony took place at the building that currently houses city hall.
Officers Matt Beaudoin and Kevin Patrick McKenna have both held several roles in the department, including as school resource officers and on the Emergency Response Team.
Police Chief Dan DeWolf said their experience will serve them well as they become department leaders.
"Not everybody wants to become the next rank, so I appreciate that," he said. "I know you guys are going to do a great job. You have our full support."
City leaders also thanked the families of the new sergeants for their support.
