Police ID man killed in Southeast Portland shooting as homicide investigation continues

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Police have identified the man who was killed in a shooting in Southeast Portland's Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood on Monday night as 50-year-old Lorenzo U. Miranda.

The family was notified of his death and provided a photo for public release, the Portland Police Bureau said in a release. The Medical Examiner has determined Miranda died of homicide by gunshot wound.

The shooting happened around 7:35 p.m. in the 12000 block of Southeast Division Street, officials said. Officers found a man seriously wounded but, despite emergency measures, the man died at the scene.

No arrests have been made, and no other details were immediately available.
