Tech company plans Rotterdam expansion, adding 200 jobs
ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Communications Test Design, Inc. (CTDI) is planning to expand to Rotterdam. According to the Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority, the company plans to lease a 200,000 square foot building at the Rotterdam Corporate Park.
The project was approved by the Rotterdam Planning Commission on Tuesday. CTDI plans to create about 200 jobs at the new facility.
CTDI specializes in engineering, repair, and logistics solutions for the communications industry. The company provides services to telecommunication carriers, cable service providers, and parts manufacturers around the world.
In Schenectady County, CTDI has three buildings with over 350,000 square feet in total at the Glenville Business and Technology Park. The Galesi Group owns the buildings in Glenville and the building in Rotterdam.
"We are pleased to receive approval from the Planning Board for this project which brings a leading global technology company to the Rotterdam Corporate Park," said David Buicko, CEO of the Galesi Group. "We thank CTDI for selecting Schenectady County after an extensive search and for creating approximately 200 jobs in the process."
Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority said CTDI looked at buildings in three states before choosing Rotterdam. Rotterdam Corporate Park has more than four million square feet of space and is one of the largest business parks in upstate New York.
