Assam cabinet approves legislation to protect heritage structures and land

Assam cabinet has approved that within 5 km area around a heritage structure -like a Mandir or a Namghar (monasteries) which is at least 250 years old-will be declared as a protected area and land of such area can be purchased or sold only between the families who have resided there for three generations or more.
