When I stepped inside Volkswagen’s new ID. Buzz—the electric version of the classic VW Microbus, available for sale in the U.S. later this year—the first thing I noticed was the giant sunroof. At more than five feet long, it takes up most of the roof. With the swipe of a finger, the smart glass changes from opaque to transparent, so passengers can watch the clouds or stars go by.
