OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — For a fourth day in a row, there has been a shooting in the metro.

The latest happened Tuesday afternoon near NE 23rd and Lottie in Oklahoma City, killing one person and sending another to the hospital.

Oklahoma City PD say a person shot two men from across a busy street in broad daylight.

"At some point, a man on this side of the street, the north side of the street, saw them, produced a firearm, opened fire on both of them," Gary Knight, OKCPD said.

Shots rang out around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in OKC near NE 23rd and Lottie.

"There is a lot of gang violence, there is a lot of shooting due to gang violence," Lyn Jackson, Chief Operating Officer with Live Free OKC said.

Live Free OKC was in the area when it happened. The program works to try to prevent violent incidents like this.

"They resolve their issues with gun violence because they don't know another way," Jackson said. "They don't have a justice system that works for them, they feel. So therefore, they operate by the code of the streets because that's all they know for revenge and to eradicate, these terrible situations that take place."

Police say the two men who were targeted were just walking down the street.

Live Free OKC is calling for an end to the violence, asking the community to come together for love and support.

"It is a tragedy for our community," Jackson said. "I'm thinking that our community needs to come together and we need to respond in peace. I'm thinking that our community needs to wrap around this family. We need to wrap around the mother."

As of Tuesday evening, authorities told News 4 the suspect is now in custody.
