Sky watchers rejoice as two axed channels return to millions of TV boxes today for free – and the kids will love it

TWO channels axed from Sky have made a welcome return to millions of boxes across the UK today.

The duo disappeared from regular terrestrial TV in March leaving fans devastated – particularly parents with small children.

The last 12 months have already been a pretty grim year for children’s channels, starting with the CITV channel’s complete closure in September.

Meanwhile, the BBC is planning to transition CBBC to iPlayer in 2025.

Tiny POP disappeared from Sky in March and turned into a digital only service streamed live via certain devices instead.

But now it’s making a comeback to Sky – and is tipped to follow on Freeview too soon.

Tiny POP is a favourite among younger children with shows like Barbie, CoComelon and Sesame Street spin-offs like Elmo’s World.

The company behind the channel has decided to close another station it owns, GREAT! Real, which appears to have paved the way for Tiny POP’s return in full.

GREAT! Real was only launched this year but was pulled on Tuesday (August 20).

So, Tiny POP and its time shift pair Tiny POP+1 are now back on Sky.

That includes satellite, as well as Sky Glass and Sky Stream, the firm’s internet-based TV service.

For now, it’s not clear whether the channel is making a comeback on Virgin Media.

On satellite, Tiny POP and Tiny POP+1 can be found on 618 and 619 respectively.

For Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers, Tiny Pop HD is on 214 (or 215 for NI and ROI).

The relaunches have also caused a bit of a reshuffle among channel numbers, so take note so you don’t get confused or miss shows.

POP Max+1 is moving from 618 to 628 on satellite.

Meanwhile, POP Max HD is moving from 214 to 215 on Glass / Stream – in NI and ROI it’ll be on 216 from now on.
