Dilemma
I know many of you readers on this forum are extremly knowledgeable of a multitude of things so what do you think.
I took my Volvo to a Volvo dealership (not in Birmingham) for a service and MOT. After these tasks had been completed I asked the for the MOT certificate, I was told they are all electronic now and no actual form is issued.
Four weeks later I went to tax my car and was informed it had no MOT.
On contacting the Volvo Garage they admitted it was their mistake and told me to bring it back to them and they would MOT it.
This was carried out, my argument with them was I had been driving for a month with no MOT and I am pretty sure if I had been stopped by the police or had an accident I would have been in trouble. Appreciating if my tax hadnt of been due 1 month after the service and NON MOT I could have been driving for potentially 11 monthes with no MOT.
They have offered me as compensation 2 free MOTs and 2 Courtesy Car Wash and Vacs.
This will tie me to this garage for 2 years. Is this adequate compensation for what could have been a fairly serious situation?
