'Miserable': Fox News host claims Democrats don't actually want to be at their convention

Fox News' Jesse Watters had a take on the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday's edition of "The Five" — in his view, it looks like no one actually wanted to be there.

The first night of the convention in Chicago kicked off with a number of notable speakers, culminating in former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden, all giving their support for Vice President Kamala Harris.

"The only joy in the room, Greg, is Joy Reid," said Watters, referring to the liberal MSNBC host. "I have great antenna when it comes to emotion. I walked through this place yesterday, the vibes are off. No one's talking to each other. There's empty seats. I walked outside afterwards."

Watters then rattled off a bunch of people he saw, who in his assessment either didn't look happy or weren't attracting the attention they should be, given their status.

"There was a two-hour line and I see John Corzine, worth $200 million, standing in it just looking miserable as anybody could be," said Watters. "I'm looking at Mayor Pete walk around. No one even recognizes him. Lori Lightfoot. People walk past and they don't even know who she is. I'm seeing CNN and NBC news anchors who I consider pretty famous. No one even wants a selfie.

"They don't even look happy. When I saw him in Milwaukee, I was like, yeah, they're not happy there at the RNC. They're not happy here, either. There is a weird vibe going on, I can't figure it out."

So far the DNC appears to be outperforming the RNC in one big respect: viewership. According to preliminary estimates, the DNC drew 20 million viewers, versus around 18 million for the RNC.
