Rep. Matt Gaetz defeats Kevin McCarthy-backed primary challenger

Rep. Matt Gaetz appeared poised Tuesday night to handily defeat primary challenger Aaron Dimmock in a contest that pitted the controversial Florida Republican against former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy whom he ousted.
