Over the last several years, sustainability has become a major part of the watch world, and for good reason. Citizen, meanwhile, has long supported the green and renewable—reaching back to 1995 when it developed its Eco-Drive technology, utilizing light as a clean energy source to measure the passage of time. With the new limited-edition Citizen Promaster Geo Trekker, the brand furthers its focus on environmental consciousness.

Made from recycled materials, the new Promaster Geo Trekker  uses a structural color ink developed by Fujifilm that creates a spectrum of hues and tones with a sense of depth through light reflection. Like the latest release in its Attesa Collection, the watch is also inspired by the geological layers of Earth’s crust, but this one features global Radio Control timekeeping, which makes it exceptionally accurate. Other functions include 200 meters of water resistance, date indication, power reserve indication, world time, and a slide rule bezel function.

Overall, this is one bold pilot’s watch, bolstered by a 46mm stainless steel bracelet and case—and a terra-inspired dial featuring touches of green, purple, and blue to complement its classy dark gray coloring. By the 6 o’clock position, a namesake Northern Hemisphere disc with an Old World map-inspired design rotates counterclockwise.

The added beauty of this new Promaster is that it can pair with just about anything. At a retail price of $850, it doesn’t invite the worry that super high-end watches do, and yet you can confidently wear this watch with a suit. It can also be taken hiking and will class up just about any outfit that'll stand up to it. Plenty visible, it tastefully leans away from the gaudiness and ostentation of too many luxury watches in much higher-end price brackets.
