Applebee's 'All You Can Eat' Deal Leads to Arrest

0

Applebee's All You Can Eat meal deal is a great way to eat as much as you want for a great price; just make sure you don't share your food with anyone you're with. One Applebee's customer recently learned that lesson the hard way.

According to Today, police arrested a 28-year-old woman at an Applebee's in Portage, Indiana after a confrontation between the customer and restaurant staff regarding the rules of the All You Can Eat deal. A police report detailed that they were called because of a "verbal disturbance" at the restaurant involving "multiple females screaming" and "threatening people."

Upon their arrival, police found three adults, including the woman who would later be arrested, along with "several juveniles" at the scene. One of the diners told police that they were led to believe that the Applebee's All You Can Eat deal is for the whole table if just one person orders it. An argument broke out once the manager told them that each person would have to pay $15.99 for their own meal deal and gave them an updated check reflecting that required payment.

That led the 28-year-old woman to "yell and act disorderly" and being warned twice by officers she could be arrested for disorderly conduct. Finally, she was placed under arrest, handcuffed, and taken to the local jail

In the end, the people she was dining with realized that the meal deal was per person and not per table, prompting one of them to go back inside and pay the full bill.

Applebee's reintroduced its All You Can Eat boneless wings, riblets, and double crunch shrimp deal earlier this summer. It's available for a limited time, but just be advised that the $15.99 price only applies to one person.
