One dead after crash on River Road in Selkirk
SELKIRK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Bethlehem Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Selkirk on Monday afternoon. The crash took place around 5:20 p.m. near 1463 River Road.
According to police, a car being driven by Jacklyn Parker, 24 of Troy, was heading north on River Road, when it crossed over the road's yellow double center lines and collided with a vehicle traveling south. The southbound driver, identified as Colleen Selkirk, 60, of Hannacroix, was declared dead at the scene.
Parker and her passenger were both taken to Albany Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police say Parker was charged with operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs, and that additional charges could be pending.
Parker is scheduled to return to the Town of Bethlehem Court on September 3. The crash remains under investigation.
