Love Island star blindsided as villa ex deals her ultimate blow without warning weeks after he bagged a new girlfriend
MYSTERY has surrounded one former Love Island couple after one villa boy dealt a brutal snub to his ex – weeks after bagging a new girlfriend.
Mitchel Taylor, 28, appears to have cut ties with his former villa partner Abi Moores, 26, after finding himself all loved up in a new romance.
In an ultimate blow, the star has wiped Abi from his Instagram following list in a bold move that hasn’t gone unnoticed by their fans.
Mitch’s decision has also come as somewhat of a surprise given that those close to both him and Abi have been left scratching their heads as to why.
An inside source told The Sun: “It was a really unexpected move from Mitch and fans have already begun to notice.
“Many Love Island viewers still hold a candle for Mitch and Abi to get back together despite it being very much dead in the water and so have been left questioning why he has made such a bold move.
“No one quite knows why Mitch has suddenly cut Abi off but as far as those around her know, there has never been a problem between the pair since leaving the villa.”
In response, Abi told The Sun: “Mitch and I have not had an issue with each other as far as I know and I would still very much consider him a friend within the industry.”
Another source close to Mitch went on to clarify: “He’d had an Instagram clear out recently of people he no longer kept in contact with and it was nothing deep on his side.”
His puzzling move has become a hot topic among followers of the pair, who rose to fame on last summer‘s edition of the ITV2 dating show, with one commenting underneath one of Abi’s recent posts alongside a crying face emoji: “Why does Mitch not follow u back?”
Mitch’s telltale move comes just weeks after he went public with his brand new girlfriend, South African model Hayley Griffin.
The 24-year-old brunette beauty has captured the heart of the former gas engineer with the new couple having shared snaps of one another on Instagram over the past few weeks.
TikToker and influencer Hayley regularly keeps her followers updated with her jet-setting life on social media.
The model has posted a string of glam bikini and swimsuit snaps while on sunkissed holidays in Greece, Ibiza and Cape Town.
Before Mitch found love with Hayley, he was linked to Abi from his time in the Love Island villa.
He gained the nickname Messy Mitch after playing both Abi and fellow Islander Ella Barnes off at the same time as one another.
Mitch gained a reputation for leading both ladies on and telling them what they wanted to hear as opposed to settling down with one of them.
He then became involved in a love square with his ex Abi, her new man Scott van-der-Sluis and his new girl Ella.
He was later dumped from the villa hand in hand with Ella.
Just weeks after they returned to the UK, Mitch and Ella called things off.
He was later pictured cosying up next to his ex Abi on a red carpet at an event.
