Queens man arrested in Granville missing child investigation
GRANVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Jamaica Queens man was arrested amid an investigation involving a missing 13-year-old from Granville and is charged with second-degree rape. Carlos Cabello Gonzalez, 33, was arrested on Wednesday.
According to state police, around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, they received a report of a missing 13-year-old out of Granville. Police say an investigation led them to find Cabello Gonzalez with the child in the village of Granville.
Police say further investigation led to finding Cabello Gonzalez and the child had communicated online and planned to meet. Additionally, Cabello Gonzalez is accused of sexually assaulting the victim.
Cabello Gonzalez was arrested and taken to Granville State Police for processing. He was then taken to the Washington County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
